I saw the crane the other day. The building is owned by Anderson Excavating so I am assuming he is going to Demolish it.

2515 Center St, Omaha, NE 68105 Former Salvation Army rehab center. Proposed replacement with 176 apartments & 24 row houses. Announcement spurred by the proposed intersections development to the south of this location. Since it is not really part of the Intersections project, this looked like a good place to put it.

This was sold to Clarity Development (group behind much of Blackstone). They have experience with tax credits which is the only way I see anything happening here. Looks like something might actually happen with this building.

The abandoned Salvation Army building at 26th and Center Streets looks like something from The Last of Us. You’ve likely seen the building while driving across the Martha Street bridge.

Kind of looks like they'll be demoing the existing buildings, unless I'm seeing these images in the wrong light.

To be fair, Clarity did a bunch of development in Blackstone (just look at their portfolio!) and has been heading the development in Little Bohemia. The latter is getting into a big building phase that looks to be on track.

I think Flatiron was on track but depended on significant low income tax credit and related financing. I think there might have been issues there.

Yes, besides most of Blackstone, 1501 Howard and The Standard Oil Building are coming along fine. The latter will be two nice rehab projects that could tie in well with hopefully more 16th St redevelopment in the near future.

The development plan proposes replatting the site into two lots for construction of an 18-unit townhouse development (six, 3-unit buildings) with individual unit garage parking on the northern lot (Lot 2), and 160 multiple family residential units in two buildings with garage and surface mparking stalls on the southern lot (Lot 1). Lot 2 will retain the existing R7 zoning, while Lot 1 will be rezoned from HI to R8.

Oh thank goodness that is the design! I live one block away. Great layout, it will deflect a lot of the sound from the railroad that runs nearby and will open the skyline a lot. I’m looking forward to the demotion! I’m sure it will be toxic and super dusty but fun to watch all the same!
