In the 80s Val's started another chain called Piece of the Pie. It was a slice to go with a drive thru. Started in 1982 and when they sold it in 1985 it already had 45 locations. The had one on 72nd near Farnam. Honestly, for a slice to go it was pretty good. Nothing like Val's pizza if you can believe that but I thought it was good.
I grew up about 5 blocks east of that Piece of the Pie on 72nd. It shared that building with our neighborhood WC Franks. Great memories.
The Arbys on 72nd was a Red Barn originally. There was also a Schlotzkys nearby. In its prime 72nd was called The Strip. Ross', Kenny's, so many others. Sortino's at 72nd & Pacific. It was amazing.
There was a Red Barn on 50th & Center. It was both an Applause Video and WC Frank's, but I forger the order. It's now a Subway.
There was also a Red Barn on 60th & L, just west of the Satellite Motel. It's now a used car dealership and has been painted black with a yellow roof. An abomination.

I've seen dated photos of 60th & L. It was a Dairy Queen.
