There was a change to the top after the first round of renderings came out. I never asked what that change was, but I would say what ever renderings came out later are correct. Just to be clear, all the official renderings were done by the Pickard Chilton.
Are these crown pieces made out of aluminum (or similar), or are they pre-painted steel or even stainless steel? It seems like they want to show off the structure of the crown, like the original rendering, but behind glass, like the final rendering.

This is why I have always believed that the 677' did not include the crown. With the crown, I bet we're closer to 707' at the highest point.

They’ve said multiple times that 677’ was the height at the architectural top. That squares with how it compares to FNBO. If it was 707’ it would look significantly taller and it just doesn’t.

Yes, going off of SkyscraperPage, this is accurate. It is the 21st tallest building by roof height under construction right now, including New York buildings, but is indeed the tallest office-only tower.

You can see the crown taking more of its shape similar to the rest of the building:

Right? I wish the Channel 3 camera at Harrah's would zoom in a little more, too. Same with the Channel 7 camera at the Livestock Exchange Building, which usually either isn't working, or is zoomed in on a random street somewhere.

"Last layer", as in that as tall as it gets? I believe so?

Hopefully we see a tree and a flag next week or two.

That angle of the first photo gives the illusion as if the garage portion is tapered more narrow at the top than at the bottom. I know it's not, but just imagining it was, it would look soooo much better.

Can anyone comment on why the steel for this last crown section is white as opposed to the rest of the building's skeleton?

Its painted because it will be exposed to the elements up on the roof. There is no roof between the crown and the little building up on top, its open air.

I am still a little confused. If the rendering from Pickard is the correct/most recent one, it doesn't appear that any of the steel is exposed, at least to me it look like its all enclosed.

My assumption is there will be "roof access" i.e the ceiling of the final floor of regular steel is the "roof". When you walk out the door, it's open air and is the final accessible floor. Would be really cool as an observation deck, which I'd bet is the idea, but just for Mutual people.

Like I said on a previous page when you asked this question, all the renderings are from Pickard Chilton, new and old. But yes, they did change the design along the way.

Can we take a moment and just appreciate how nice our downtown buildings look? They are each unique and very eye appealing. The same is not said in most locations.

I was in a mental debate as to which version of this building is liked more until I realized the second was reflective, which my eyes have always been drawn to those.

Im really loving how our downtown is coming together in the third DT growth era (first 70s, second 00s, now 20s)

I personally hope it ends up looking like the first rendering. The logo on the top looks amazing and I bet it would look cool lit up at night.

That top floor is more of meeting/event space and I think the big logo would block too much of the view.

It’s very obvious now looking at it in person that it will look like the second rendering. As I pointed out in the early renderings phase there’s about two weeks out of the year of free advertising with a northern logo orientation. If you look at the rendering below it looks like Mutual took this into account. Maybe Brad or someone has some insight as to whether that’s still the plan. I don’t recall any renderings with signage on the parking garage but clearly they are putting one on the north/east side.

When I see skyline photos from this angle it makes me so excited to potentially see 480 come down through some of downtown. I realize almost all of the bridge portion in this framing would still exist, but it’s still exciting!

These are from the top of the Adventure Tower in CB -- I got to go on a tour of the site yesterday. I feel like this is going to be a go-to vantage point for photographers shooting the skyline, because it's just enough further north that you can get the Bob Kerrey bridge in.

I can't post any pics of the inside of the tower itself as it's still very much a working construction site, but it's pretty exciting to see the progress.
