Brad I have a suggestion or a tip for you. It concerns the other day on my way into the city from out west. Traveling east on West Center Road I approached the 72nd Street overpass. What a super panoramic shot of Omaha's skyline. You have the majestic high rise of Elmwood Tower, the Lied Cancer Center and the VA Hospital. And right behind are the towering trio of FNBO, the Woodmen LIfe and Mutual of Omaha. I don't remember if Elmwood Tower is to far removed to get into a wide field pic or not I sure hope so. I'm sure you could also see some of the other landmarks but I had to keep my eye on the road. Thanks Mike

Thanks for the tip, Mike. I’ve actually shot that view many times over the last several years. I’ve posted them on the form here too. I’m not sure how wide I went to get all those other buildings but I know for a fact I’ve posted several pictures from 72nd and center with the three towers in the shot.

Dont mind the |expletive| photo, I was going down Dodge around sunset, and to say the sucker is reflective is an understatement! The photo doesnt do it justice, if you look at it IRL, its actually quite blinding.

Like this one here was taken from 72 & Center last summer. I parked at the Dr's Office building. I have shot from the parking lot or walked a little ways further east on 72nd, closer to the bridge. Just depends on the day.

My wife and I got married at Holy Cross.

I've actually been trying to catch that shot in the fall the past couple years and just never got anything good.

I thought being on the SW corner of the overpass it always seemed higher being elevated and all..

Staying in the area Brad have you studied the location of 1515 s.75th St.? You can shoot well over the rooftop of the building? You have Elmwood Tower, Blackstone, Mutual, Lied Center and the "Three Musketeers" easily in a nice telephoto shot. Too bad the hospital isn't finished!

The western side of the overpass is elevation 1150, the parking at the Dr's office is 17 feet higher at 1167. The finished floor of the Dr's office is 1170 so the roof is probably around 1190, but it doesn't appear they even have a roof hatch.

Yeah, that basically where I shoot a lot of my Memorial Park Fireworks photos from, across the street at the church. I know I have shot it once or twice before the fireworks started, but not sure if ever posted them. The problem with that spot is the high voltage power lines along 72nd street. There is a gap if you get far enough north on 1515 that I need to explore. That said thing is, this is so close to my house, but I never seem to go there except for fireworks. I always choose the Dr's office on Center or ANB on 90th and Dodge when I am doing long range from the west. I can drive from my house to 1515 in about 2 min.

To compare it to the Dr's office I mentioned, the sidewalk on the west side of 1515 is also elevation 1170.

ANB is elevation 1177 from where I shoot.

That is the best pic of the skyline to date. Did you make note of the spot with spray paint on the trail walk? Ha ha. Only thing to change is to walk about 10' or 20' further north to catch the real Omaha trademark or landmark if you will........the tower horns on the Lumen bldg.

I bet the crown has a few more days than that. I also be they don't do much tomorrow. Then you need to coordinate the City Leaders, Mutual Leaders, and the Lanoha development leaders and get them all there on the same day.

I'm really hope they delay it until the 26th or 27th. If it actually happens on 3/25 I'm gonna need to call in sick to work... LOL

Thank you! I did notice the referenced tower horns were absent from the photos. I’ll be taking future morning walks down there soon.

Would be cool if you could find out who these two are and send it to them. I'm sure it would be a career highlight to have a photo like this! I bet if you send it to the Project lead they could find out who that was up there that day. cool photos

I’ve been amazed how many people have seen my photos of this that are working/connected to the project. I’d be surprised if someone who knows them hasn’t already seen them. I’ve posted photos of the tower before I went to bed at night and had emails about the photos from workers in the morning when I woke up.

Skinzfan posted it earlier in this thread, but it’s supposed to be next week. That said, Grow Omaha should get an email letting us know when and we have not seen it yet.
