I have a hard time wrapping my head around the fact that players everywhere now have to make a statement that they are returning.

Yeah it's a strange new world. I can see why they do it now so it eliminates any confusion. Also I imagine it eliminates hard feelings if they do it for everyone not just the stars.

I fully understand why they do it. It just blows my mind that the environment has changed so much in a short time that there is a valid reason to do it.

I see the humor but I do think it's a big deal we got Nate Loenser back. He was a finalist for the Northern Iowa job.

First we bring in Rob Aurich from San Diego State as our football team's defensive coordinator. Now we get Taj DeGourville, too!

Nebraska Director of strength and conditioning coach Kurt Joseph has left the program for a job in the NBA joined the Huskers in 2021

Not sure how big of an impact this will be, but it is a change.

He visited earlier this week, then went to NC State. Was afraid we'd lost him. Nice to see our NIL stepping up again.

Yeah I heard Robin Washut talking about him before he committed. Said a great compliment to Kapke who's more a stretch 5. Already looking forward, big time, to this upcoming season.

Last I heard they were having trouble getting a team to play them in Sioux Falls as it is basically a home game for Nebraska. This is a great get that should help their NET ranking.

Official release on the Providence game:

The Nebraska men’s basketball team will face an early-season test this November, as the Huskers will face Providence in the 2026 Basketball Hall of Fame Tip-Off.

The matchup, announced by the Basketball Hall of Fame, takes place on Saturday, Nov. 7, at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn., and is part of a college basketball doubleheader that day. In addition to the Nebraska-Providence matchup, Rhode Island will face Monmouth.

Another piece to the 2026-27 Nebraska men’s basketball schedule has been set, as the Huskers will host Saint Louis in a preseason exhibition on Friday, Oct. 9.

The tipoff time between the Huskers and Billikens will be set closer to tipoff and tickets for the matchup will be included in 2026-27 season-ticket and student-ticket packages. Single-game ticket information will be announced later this summer.

I love having both BYU and St Louis as 2 of our 3 exhibition games. Even though it was an exhibition, felt like the team spring boarded a bit from that game last year (along with the momentum coming off The Crown title).

Orme finally signs:

Nebraska Men’s Basketball Coach Fred Hoiberg added size and frontcourt shooting to the Husker roster with the addition of Belmont transfer Sam Orme (pronounced ORM) on Thursday. A 6-foot-9, 220-pound forward from Carmel, Ind., Orme comes to Nebraska after earning All-Missouri Valley Conference honors last season.

“Sam is a player we targeted early in the process because he has a skillset that can flourish in our system,” Nebraska Coach Fred Hoiberg said. “At 6-foot-9, he has the size to score inside and can stretch the floor as he shot nearly 40 percent from 3-point range last year at a high volume. Defensively, he has the length to guard multiple positions and is active in getting his hands in passing lanes. He comes from a winning program, has a high basketball IQ and gives us a player we can build around over the next two seasons.”
