Ah, I feel dumb for not putting it together sooner, but this scuffle, and more importantly the tension that probably stuck around after is probably a decent chunk of the reason Clarkson wants to sell.

There are public records that show what UNMC owns and what Clarkson Regional Health Services owns. Clarkson owns comparably less. However, they do own the main building of Nebraska Medical Center, Clarkson Tower.

It looks like the parking garage on the northeast corner of Saddle Creek and Farnam is on the planning board agenda for next month.

There are two items:

7. Preliminary and Final Plat approval of BRIGGS PLACE REPLAT 15, a minor plat inside city limits, with rezoning from CC to TOD-1-MX, along with a repeal of the ACI-Overlay District (portions of property are located within the FF-Flood Fringe and FW-Floodway Overlay Districts)

12. Approval of a Conditional Use Permit to allow a Parking structure in the TOD-1-MX District

Just drove by, got lost because of construction on 42nd Street so ended up driving around and through the campus. The dermatology building is already underway, the new parking garage north of Catalyst is framed up (Catalyst, by the way, looks awesome!), Admin building looks good, and there is a giant construction site for the Project Next building. They leveled the site down to Saddle Creek. Campus continues to grow and the surrounding area is benefitting as well. We need some construction footage at UNMC.

Crane components were being delivered to the site of the new hospital tower today. Looked more like a crawler crane than tower crane but was just driving by.

The Mutual of Omaha tower started with a crawler for some of the initial foundation work and to help setup the tower cranes. I'm guessing they'll do something similar here.

I drove by the site today. With both the garage where Don and Millie's used to be an this site being/already graded, this is going to be a huge change to this part of the urban core. I already love what they have done and are doing around the Catalyst. I am just excited it is really moving forward both on the financial end and actual construction.

Do we know within a hundred feet how tall this is going to be. I've seen our speculating it could be 400 feet.. are we still thinking that?

My impression was that there was a downgrade on size/height. Just my recollection without reviewing this entire thread. I think it was financially related?

But I also noticed Clarkson donated $200 million recently. Did they do that to maintain the integrity of the entire project?

That notification would lead me to believe its above ground level (AGL), but I'm not entirely sure.

Based on that Elevation, it will be 409' tall from the NW corner of the plot, ie the SE corner of Saddle Creek/Farnam. That sits around 50' lower than the SE corner of the plot, near the north facade of the Buffett Cancer Center. Given the Lied Transplant center sits atop this hill, about 30 ish feet higher than the prev. mentioned corner(elevation wise). The Lied Transplant Center is 230' tall at a base elevation of 1,195'. With an 86' difference in starting elevation, and a 179' difference in building height, that puts Project Health Sitting around 93' taller in perspective height than the Lied... This thing will be massive on most view points haha. Think how The Elmwood Tower sticks out, it will roughly be the same overall height (elevation + building height)...

Was just playing around with that FAA search and saw what looks like separate studies for cranes so I think this is just for the building. For instance the new Boys Town hospital had one result for the building itself and a seperate one for the crane.

I suspect this is real. When permits and such are being contemplated, that's a good sign.

That being said, maybe they include an extra few feet. I cannot remember what the permits were for the Mutual Tower building & crane, but that should give us a definitive answer.
