Now we wait and see (or guess) who the performers are! Two for sure won't be this year's bands:
1. Rush (in Texas that night)
2. Jon Anderson and the Band Geeks (off night between 2 shows in California)....as if those were going to be the bands even if they were available lol

I never go to the free concert, but I would go if Rush was playing. I've heard their new drummer is great, but seeing them in 2010 was one of the best concerts I've ever seen.

We'll probably have Frankie Valli wheeled out to lip sync.

Great song! My favorite is Southbound Pachyderm. But there are so many awesome songs. Recently I've been watching Bass Teacher Reacts on YouTube and while I've always loved Primus' wacky vibes, it has given me a greater appreciation of Les' skills.

I realize you're being sarcastic, but the Doobie Brothers would be a huge get this year as Michael McDonald is back with them after decades. And with the whole Yacht Rock wave it would most likely be the biggest one yet. The younger crowd has really embraced Yacht Rock.

Yeah I coach high school hockey, and I am surprised how popular the Doobies are with that age group. When they are playing their music on the speaker in the locker room, they are definitely in the rotation. It's quite an eclectic mix from so many years. Much more varied than from when I was their age.

I agree, maybe not as crazy as Celine Dion and Metallica on the same ticket, but quite different styles for sure.

I did not attend the show. I did watch the fireworks from 72nd & Center street. Most years its hot, most years i don't care abut the band playing, and anymore I'm just not motivated to deal with a crowd that large after spending 10 days at the CWS.
