The grooming was top-notch, even among the trails between the trees on the south side. The weather was also perfect: sunny and in the 20's. I left feeling sad that the weather will be warm next week.
Surprised it closed so early! Here is their live webcam, looks like good snow coverage still today.

I might have to try this place again. We went a couple times when it was privately owned and it was just a sheet of ice due to zero maintenance and they were barely running snow machines.

I guess they looked at the extended forecast and didn't see much hope to remain open. The snow still available today would have been pretty slushy and sticky to ski on.

New Branding for Mt Crescent as Pottawattamie County pushes for tighter links to Hitchcock Nature Center

New name is Crescent Hill at Hitchcock. I will miss the old name - it felt like a fun in joke to be able to say that we had a mountain to ski in Iowa!

Apparently Yesterday, Saturday 3/8/2025 was the last day of the season.

I suspect most people will continue to call it Mt Crescent. Mainly because it’s just shorter.

Surprised they haven’t floated putting in an alpine slide somewhere on the property.
