I suspect this is real. When permits and such are being contemplated, that's a good sign.

That being said, maybe they include and extra few feet. I cannot remember what the permits were for the Mutual Tower building & crane, but that should give us a definitive answer.

I have seen developers in Kansas City ask the FAA for very generous height permissions compared to what is actually planned.

The first set, filed 9/14/2023, lists the building height as the announced 677 ft. The second set, filed 11/13/2023, makes an addendum to say that a maintenance facility on top of the previously submitted permits will actually bring the height to 688 ft. So it looks like the Mutual tower may actually be a few feet taller than we expected!

Apologies if this has been posted already, but I pulled this from the CIP. This seems to provide a different sense of scale of the Project Health Tower, and seems to at least double the height of the cancer research tower and the Durham Research towers.

I like the looks of it while one would be riding up Farnam on the streetcar, to have perhaps a shadow-producing tower hovering over the streetscape, and also provide a sort of bookend to the towers downtown that would be flanking the line at both ends, sort of.

I feel like they've been preparing the site forever. Are there any signs of a crane or building materials as of yet?

Also, I believe that rendering is old - the most recent renderings cut off the top, but apparently it's still expected to be nearly 400ft.

Yep, there has been a ton of movement at the foundation level.

While we continue to wait for official height numbers on project health, Northwestern in Chicago is building a new 1.2 million sqft, 24 story, 427 ft tall tower for comparison

The University of Nebraska Board of Regents gave the final go-ahead Tuesday to share governance of the Nebraska Medicine healthcare system with Omaha philanthropists and bring in money to expand facilities.

The new board governing Nebraska Medicine will include four regents and four members from the Omaha Community Foundation, which will contribute an initial $300 million, said Regent Chairman Paul Kenney. Neither the regents nor the foundation representatives have yet been named publicly.

The money will go toward a more than $2 billion development in Omaha called Project Health, which will replace the 70-year old Clarkson Hospital with a new, 14-story, 1.5 million-square-foot teaching hospital.

Original release said if would be 15 floors and 1.5 million square feet. So, we lose one floor but footage remains the same. Hopefully it tops 300 feet at least?

I hope you all realize that, however many floors the building will have, the first 4 or 5 levels will sit below the hill immediately to the south of the project site. I guess unless there are several uncounted levels of parking structure directly underneath the hospital.
One way or another it will be good to move this project off the drawing board.
