This place has been around quite some time. It was started by Tim Peffer. (He was also one of the people behind Pefferoni's Pizza back in the 1980s.)

The Saddle Creek Road and the Millard location have different owners. So, same name and same roots, but they've diverged over the years.

While they're mentioned in several other threads, it didn't have a dedicated one.

I came across a TikTok this weekend where a lady at their Saddle Creek location was pleading for business. So, that's not a good sign. I don't know if that problem is unique to Saddle Creek or if their Millard location is having the same issue. I stop into the Millard location maybe once or twice a year for lunch. I've never been to their Saddle Creek location.

Two separate restaurants. 20 years ago, a manager bought the rights to use the name and recipes in order to open a similarly named restaurant in Millard.

The thing with that is, the original on Saddle Creek has always been referred to as the best. If they close, that's not going to be a great thing for their fans.

Also, I was thinking the Saddle Creek improvements would have helped bring in more business... their building has to be owned (no mortgage) most likely. Unfortunately, a lot of businesses simply cannot continue to survive with the state of the economy, competition, etc.

I’m not sure how much it plays into it but the owner is always on the local news commenting on the annoyance they feel about the homeless situation and the construction of the area.

They never come across as constructive feedback in any of this when they do comment on it, in my opinion.

I know they got hammered by the road construction over there. I go to the Homey Inn some and was talking with a couple guys behind the bar and they talked about the massive hit they were taking as well. Back then it was the promise of the new developments including apartments that were the light at the end of the tunnel. Unfortunately, as we have seen that's not happening there due to the flood plain. Omaha screwed this one up pretty good.
