2026 World Series

Post by mrsticka »

The matchup's all set. It's going to be Milwaukee (the Brewers) and Tampa Bay (the Rays). It starts Friday. How do you think it'll go?

I'm not sure who I will root for. But I'm glad that I don't have to fear a Dodgers 3-peat.

My favorite team is eliminated, and I likely won't watch every game. What I fear, and what I believe is inevitable, is that there is a looming lockout after this season concludes. The silver lining for the players is that 3 of the final 4 were "small market/budget" teams. Maybe the owners won't have a strong enough stance to enact a salary cap, but earlier in the year it really looked like it was going to happen. I'll take the lowest remaining payroll of the 2, Rays in 6!

Me, too. I'll admit for a moment, I was worried we'd have another Dodgers/Yankees World Series matchup. Thankfully, we won't.

The Brewers came back to take Game 2 5-4. So that means they led 2-0. They're 2 wins away from winning their first ever World Series championship.

Interesting Brewers note that you may or may not know

Lane Grindle is part of the PbP team for the Brewers Radio broadcast. He Joined the Brewers in 2016

He had been part of the Husker broadcast team for 10 years in a variety of roles, including PbB for some sports.
Hear him once in a while when he joins a Husker broadcast as a guest for a short segment. Always liked listening to him with the Huskers.

I wonder if he was considered or interested when the Huskers needed to find a replacement after Greg Sharpe passed away?

I guess I didn't realize Tamp got their stadium fixed and were playing there again.

Brewer Blowout so far.

The Brewers just won Game 3 10-1. So they're one more win away from winning their first ever World Series. Game 4 is tomorrow night.

The Brewers scored 10 runs without hitting any homers. Very honorable!

Game 4 is tonight. Can the Brewers sweep the Rays and win it all? Or will the Rays win and force a Game 5? What do you think will happen?

The Rays just won Game 4 on a walk off 4-3 in the 12th. So there will be a Game 5 tomorrow night.

Was flying back to Tampa yesterday (Tuesday) via Nashville and there had to have been at least 20-30 Milwaukee Brewers fans who got on in Nashville. Flight wasn’t getting in until 8, which was game time. One couple told me they had decided at 9 that morning to go and had driven 3 hrs to some airport in Wisconsin another fan said he had bought a ticket for game 5 but didn’t have one for game 4

Game 5 is tonight. Can the Brewers finish the job and win it all or will the Rays win again and force a Game 6?
