Their website lists two in Omaha, one on 72nd, the other on West Maple,. There’s also one in Council Bluffs.
They've certainly closed a lot of them over the last several years. These remain:
My daughter is going to be upset....she loves Fazoli's. Had a feeling that would happen, with some of the other closings lately and this location didn't seem to be busy.
If there's still a location north of 132nd & Center, it's probably not too far behind given this and the previous closure of Peony Park's. Kinda sad... when I worked near the Cass St store, I would grab it for lunch on occasion. Just not convenient any longer and IMO not worth going out of my way for it. Much rather have Valentino's express lunch over Fazoli's if I was going over there.skinzfan23 wrote: Tue Oct 13, 2026 4:46 pmMy daughter is going to be upset....she loves Fazoli's. According to their website, the CB one is still open.nebugeater wrote: Wed Oct 14, 2026 10:44 am Are the Fazoli's in Council Bluffs still open? I suppose I could use Google!
The one on 180th & Q had a sign on the outside of their store this weekend that said you could order it. I would believe it to be true! Nothing goes better together than McRib and Thanksgiving! LOLChadJK wrote: Mon Oct 26, 2026 3:25 pm I am hearing that the McRib is back tomorrow? Can anyone confirm?
Nothing is explicitly showing it as closed yet, but the Sonic website says online ordering is unavailable and that it's "Closed. Opens at 12:00 AM." So, most likely closed closed. A buddy told me Saturday was their last day.Greg S wrote: Mon Nov 02, 2026 3:50 pm I just saw on Grow Omaha, the Sonic in Gretna appears to have closed.

There were plenty of reasons for the change in ownership/managment a few years ago. Many of them were things being done at the drive-through that just weren't legal and had nothing to do with food. My daughter knew people that worked there for a while and quit and saw things firsthand.ChadJK wrote: Mon Nov 02, 2026 5:14 pmNothing is explicitly showing it as closed yet, but the Sonic website says online ordering is unavailable and that its "Closed. It's been the worst Sonic for speed of service in the metro area for years.
I'm a regular Sonic customer. I stop almost every day for a drink and use the app for the 50% discount. On my commute, I pass both the Gretna and La Vista locations, and I consistently choose La Vista because I don't have 15 minutes to spend waiting for a single fountain drink in Gretna.
The biggest problem was always the speed of service. Some mornings they'd only have one or two employees working. If the car ahead of you ordered food, you'd end up waiting for that entire order to be cooked and served before they handed you a fountain drink that takes 30 seconds to make. Afternoons and evenings were a little better, but not much.
More than once, I've parked in a drive-in stall for a drink and watched half a dozen cars go through the drive-thru, get served, and leave while I was still waiting for a fountain drink. The Gretna location wasn't just slow, it was consistently, frustratingly slow.
I regularly visit the Sonics at 180th & Center, 156th & Q, Southport in La Vista, and even Bellevue. None of them come close to the delays I experienced in Gretna.
Their biggest mistake happened about 5+ years ago when the franchise changed hands and the entire management team was let go. Before that, the location was actually run pretty well. Since then, it's felt like a steady decline.
Since Greg Cutchall passed away, just about every concept has been divested. His family must not have the passion he did.ChadJK wrote: Mon Nov 02, 2026 5:14 pm

I'm okay with someone selling weed out of the drive-thru window (I presume that's what was happening) if it means the rest of us get quicker service.nebugeater wrote: Mon Nov 02, 2026 6:51 pm There were plenty of reasons for the change in ownership/managment a few years ago. One would have hoped things would improve, but that wasn't the case with the change, at least as far as service goes. Believe the legal things stopped. I live about two miles from there and would never consider going there for ANY REASON for quite a few years.

I'll need to get one soon! Apparently there's a class action lawsuit against McDonald's as they claim there's no rib meat in the McRib.nebugeater wrote: Mon Nov 02, 2026 6:45 pm Had my one time for each limited run of the McRib today. Last year, they were only around for a few weeks. Don't wait too long.djc311 wrote: Mon Nov 02, 2026 9:29 pmI'll need to get one soon! Honestly, anyone that thinks you're getting BBQ ribs of any type with a McRib needs to stop buying food at McDonald's. Kinda like the lawsuit against Reese's because the Halloween bags showed cutout faces on the candy that were not actually there.
Duh!
I've seen some really tasty-looking real versions where they slow cook (or smoke) a half rack of pork ribs until the bones slide out and then put it on a bun.djc311 wrote: Mon Nov 02, 2026 9:29 pm Apparently there's a class action lawsuit against McDonald's as they claim there's no rib meat in the McRib.
i may be crazy, but i think they've had something like that before? I remember being in the lobby and them telling my (then) 4 year old daughter they were out of the hotdog things.ChadJK wrote: Wed Nov 04, 2026 9:09 pm Runza now has a sort of hot dog Runza called the Cheesy Dog Bunza for $3.69. It's an all-beef hot dog and American cheese baked inside a bun. I'm not sure if it's a limited time only or a permanent item.

For some reason I was thinking that too. Don’t know when though. My wife used to love the little mini dogs they had.thenewguy wrote: Wed Nov 04, 2026 11:55 pmi may be crazy, but i think they've had something like that before? He's a good reviewer. Has not even dared to try the Arby's philly.
Anyone that dresses like that to review fast food should be locked in the chokey.bbinks wrote: Thu Nov 05, 2026 12:21 pmHe's a good reviewer. Has not even dared to try the Arby's philly.
I miss the Runza polish dogs. Those were actually really good in my opinion.nebugeater wrote: Thu Nov 05, 2026 11:48 am I read elsewhere that the hot dog Runza is in the test-market phase. The Runza in Gretna has them. I believe it is supposed to be limited right now, but that could change. My wife got one for a grandson a week ago or so when I was not home. She said he liked it, and she tasted it and said it was good.
I don't recall anything like this before, but they did have the mini corn dogs that sparked a lot of conversation when they went off the menu. I believe the supplier they got them from stopped production, and they didn't find an alternative they wanted to use.
The closest I can think of is perhaps the Yankee Burrito at Amigos:thenewguy wrote: Wed Nov 04, 2026 11:55 pm i may be crazy, but i think they've had something like that before? I remember being in the lobby and them telling my (then) 4 year old daughter they were out of the hotdog things.
LOL. Definitely a polarizing sort of dude. I find him at least entertaining at times..

I've had it a couple of times. For the price, i find it a great deal! Is it the best country fried steak I have ever had? No. But i did enjoy it.Busguy2010 wrote: Thu Nov 05, 2026 9:33 pm Has anyone had the country fried steak meal at KFC? I just discovered it, but apparently its been around "for forever". You get the steak, mashed potatoes, coleslaw, and biscuit. $4.99 on Wednesdays. I previously hadn't been to KFC in years and years, but now I've been there two weeks in a row. It's a pretty nifty deal, and pretty good too.
