Comedian Dustin Diamond, who performed at the west Omaha Funny Bone Comedy Club Thursday through Sunday, said an Omaha woman broke into his room at the Crowne Plaza Hotel early Monday morning.
Diamond told a Tampa, Fla., radio station that the 28-year-old woman stormed his room about 3:40 a.m. looking to steal some valuables. Diamond alleges he had a skirmish with the woman, who was armed with Mace. He said that after she took some video games, he was able to pin her with the room's door, at which point she hollered, "Rape."
Diamond, 29, said he then held onto her pants until police could arrive.
Hmmm, call me jaded, but the whole thing sounds fishy to me. Sounds more like a publicity stunt to bring some interest to his flagging entertainment career. How convenient the woman's phone number was disconnected 'just that morning'. How often does the OWH scan police reports for celebrity names, unlike the 'big' city papers, which do it routinely (and for that matter, who at the OWH would even know his name)? How does one 'storm' a hotel room without being let in by the occupant? Look for the whole thing to drop off the radar screen when police can't find the woman in regards to the alleged crime.

Well, you can call me Mark, but after reading many of the news reports from various sources and I thought the same thing. Especially after a caller on the Jim Rome show called up and said he was in a Des Moines comedy club and was did his routine before Screech and got a better reception when Screech basically called him out on stage - even dropping the 'n' word on him. He is not a good comedian.
Police say it was a 'he said - she said?' I think they knew better to stay away from this one.
In June, Diamond said he was selling T-shirts with his photo on them to try to raise money to save his Milwaukee home, which was under a foreclosure order.

I was at the VP Funny Bone last year when there was a heckler who the comedian absolutely destroyed. He was a former lawyer from Louisiana and the heckler was an intoxicated woman (with a two drink minimum at these places - isn't everyone a little intoxicated?)
Now Screech is a horse of a different color. I would love to see him try to subdue a heckler. That would be a train wreck everyone would love to watch.
