Thanks for all the hard work in getting back on line. I know it can be difficult esp. when it is a labor of love.
Can you enlighten a bit as to the basis of the change? Did the "owner" of the BBS change? Is this still Jeff's baby or has it been handed off?
I am sure there is a hosting charge for this now that it is not on a personal PC. How is this being covered? If this is coming out of one pocket as I suspect it is I would like to be the first to publicly offer to help a bit with a token contribution. Maybe via a Paypal account. I think the frequent users here realised over the last month how much they come to rely on this as a go to place for information and if they really want this to be around a few $$ a year to help cover costs would be in line. Let em know what the situation is and I challenge all to help keep this thing going if that is what is needed.

As many of you know - eOmaha.com was the second generation of the Omaha Chamber of Commerce Forum. Before the demise of that forum due to immature forumers, eOmaha.com came to the rescue and created an environment where local Omaha residents and enthusiasts could come together to discuss potentials, prospect and problems in our great city. This second forum as many of you know was home sponsored by Jeff. But that placed many limits on resources. eOmahaForums is now the third generation of Omaha forums. All we can say right now is that this forum is still in process. It has been moved from Jeff's home computer to an offsite provider.
Thank you for the offer of financial support - but this site has always been a labor of love and hopefully will never ask or even hint of renumerations. It is simply a resource (and forum) for people with interests in the future of Omaha to gather and further the prospect of the greatest city in America. If you wish in some way to contribute to this site we would suggest only one thing. Contribute by the quality of your posts. We do not ever wish to stymie conversation, but make it relevant and constructive. The value of this forum is always in the contributions - your contribution - and as a place of historical recollection - a resource for the ages. That is why it was so important to retain as many posts as possible in this transfer.
Thank you nubugeater for your enthusiasm and your support!

Great to have the forum back! While I'm all for the new additions, I think one addition would be most beneficial. On Skyscraperpage.com's forums when there's a large photo only for that post do you have to scroll left/right while the rest remain aligned. I don't know if that made sense or how hard this would be. (I'm pretty computer illiterate.) Just one additional reccomendation that would greatly increase the navigability of the site.

Some alternate skins to the phpBB default wouldn't hurt. Might give some style and customization to the forums.

praymojo420: 'Alternate Skins' is on the additions list but a little further down right now.
mchine73: I am not quite sure what you are asking. There is a mod that I am looking at which would limit photo size on the posts with a pop up link to the full size photo - but there are too many bugs in that mod right now.
Thanks for your suggestions. If anyone else has any suggestions for this site you can post them in this topic.

The EMFF Mod is now working. Here is an example:

Ahhh that is awesome. I've been on Jeff B's and even Don Lou's butts for half a year now to get a podcast up and running for Grow Omaha. I never even got a no, all I got was no answer.

For What Its Worth - EMFF stands for Easy Musicplayer For Flash.
It was developed for websites by Marc Reichelt and turned into a Mod by Martin Truckenbrodt both from Germany.
There are a couple other skins that can be used - but I am waiting for Martin's response to how to code them in.

The EMFF player skin was changed from standard to 'lila'.
This skin actually had a pause button and a volume slide on it which makes listening to podcasts much more convenient.
I do not believe that users can change the skin. This can only be done by changing the php code.

That skin is pretty cool. Mainly thanks to more functions. But honestly not to worried about the skin of that little player then I am the site.

I figured that description didn't make sense. Here's a thread from skyscraperpage that shows what I'm talking about. http://forum.skyscraperpage.com/showthread.php?t=88038
See after the first post with the large pictures, you don't need to scroll to the left to read the posts. Hope that clarifies it a little bit. Just something to make the forum a little more user friendly, if no can do I doubt it would be a problem.

I don't know why the new pic has not been uploaded. ("Forums" above MOA building.)
But with phpBB - There are many things that cause bump in the middle of the night.

Again - any and all suggestions are very welcome.
Besides trying to get php meta tags going - I have been working on a new template - one that MTO suggested - but their zipped files are causing problems.
We need a new skin for Omaha Forums. Any other suggestions?

You know what would be cool is an Aqua (OS X) styled theme. I will try and find one for you ASAP mark.
Gosh you have already made so many other improvements I can't think of any more other then some skinz.

Check again. The chosen template is used on the top - others located below. I had a second take also Brad. This forum will never be ''underground"

So you are saying the overall theme of the page, the grey and white correct?
If its time for a change that one isn't bad.

the absolutedsm one is probably pretty close to the Aqua theme (just a little darker) that MTO had suggested earlier. I like it too.

Would someone please explain what went on/is going on with this forum? Maybe some believe this is none of our business("our" being members that aren't online everyday and members that don't know other members by name, only screen name),but I think some explaination is in order. I didn't think there was anything wrong with the old forum. We were told the forum was down because it was moving to new server, but then it took three weeks, and now there are hints here and there that there was some personality issues!!! We don't need a blow by blow, but some general explaination would be welcome.
Thanks
