Chinook Helicopter @ Burke This Morning

a Chinook Helicopter just landed in Burk High Schools Parking lot.

I snapped a photo on the way to work that I will post later.

I heard they were just testing a method of bringing in additional seats for the state track meet!

I assume you are joking... But I don't think they were there long enough for that. It landed and then about 15min later lifted off hovered for a few min and then took off.

The Chinook just came back touched down and took right back off. I got some good photos this afternoon as it took off and turned in to the sun!

I've ridden in one of those. They are really big choppers. The Nebraska National Guard is probably doing medical drills in which they select an arbitrary location in Nebraska and perform a mock medical evacuation as quickly as possible, flying the injured person to the base near Ashland. They choose locations around Omaha pretty often from what I hear.

cool. I was thinking you took it at burk, but the clouds were all wrong in your video to be Burk.
