Can we declare that mustard pairs best with pork?

My brother-in-law will tell you the best condiment for pork chops is apple sauce.

Best on almost any pork is a quality BBQ sauce

We ate a lot of pork chops growing up, but never paired it with apple sauce. A lot of shake and bake and sometimes stuffed chops. I do remember one time eating freshly slaughtered pork chops that were some of the best I'd ever had. Just salt and pepper and grilled.

I think I prefer the carolina mustard sauce for pork. Something that really gives it bite, but I also like puerto rican slow cooked pork, aka pernil.

I've never been a big fan of pork chops, maybe I never had them prepared well growing up. This talk almost makes me want to try them again, and prepare them how I would.

I find it intriguing how apple and sweetness seem to be a well accepted pairing with a meat. But I'd give it a try.

I think maybe a mix of apple jelly and Dijon might make a good sauce.

Speaking of Heinz 57, they've been running commercials with various food pairings, and each one is over done. Lol, how much ketchup can you pour on a burger before its ketchup, not burger?

And the one that bugs me the most, they have a pile of perfectly delicious Runza looking fries, and they pour the ketchup ON the fries... Am I missing something here? Do people do this??? That just ruins a perfectly crispy pile of fries by making them soggy, you get your fingers ketchupy, and the bottom won't have any ketchup. I hope this isn’t a normal thing.
