The rebar that is green, is epoxy coated. It helps mitigate corrosion of the rebar. Since this is a parking garage they are using epoxy coated rebar in the slabs and beams. The rebar at the stair tower is not epoxy coated so it is the typical reddish brown color.

You will notice they use the green on all the bridges around here too.

Thanks, I couldn't remember, I saw it on Facebook. Good photo other than the shadows on the window. I remember trying to take similar photos from inside the Landmark building and it is tough, but with a little know how and patience it can be done.

I went down and shot some photos just after sunrise this morning, I’ll post those later. Counting the numbers on the core, It looks like the 11th floor is currently being worked on under the yellow tent.

Sure is. Went up on the hill to the south of downtown to try to get level with the top pf the Paxton and line these up.

Yeah, the southern exposures of downtown are my favorite for seeing the density of older buildings downtown still has.

Any thoughts when they might expand/increase height of the crane? Always loved tower cranes rising equally and above taller buildings in a skyline.

Yeah, it’s a nice place, been up there many times. It’s nice because it doesn’t have all the activities going in the parking lot like fairmount park does…

It is quite far though, you really need a clear day with not much for haze, humidity, dust, or smoke.

I would imagine that prob won’t be until summer at the earliest. They still have quite a we more floors to go before they would need to do that and right now they are adding a floor about every 10 days or so.

That makes sense. Core should be right at 20 stories by July 4th. My prediction is they'll increase the crane height in June...or July at the latest.

The crane height looks roughly the height of the UP building right now which is about 19 or 20.

you can see the yellow cap rising up between the buildings when you merge from I-80 to I-29 by Ameristar. You could see it before, i'm sure, but now it's more easily visible

doing rough math here. If they ascend a floor every two weeks, they should reach floor 44 around July 10, 2025 (and I have no idea how tall each floor is or what the actual height is now, so the following may be sooner or later, depending on that).

Notable milestones along the way to topping out:

Floor 16 around June 13 (that should make it as tall or slightly taller than CPP)
Floor 20 around August 8th (that'd make it about as tall or slightly taller than UP)
Floor 28 around November 28th (woodmen)
Floor 44 in July of next year puts it about the height of First National, and then the tallest in Omaha not too long after

3/17: 8 floors
3/24: 9 floors
4/7: 11 floors

So looking at this probably a little quicker than we thought, maybe about 7-8 days per floor. (the floors I posted would be the one they are working on or basically the one under the yellow section)

Just got downtown today for the first time in close to a month. This is looking pretty amazing already at just 10 floors. Once it reaches the height of CPP it will be even better. The height and density it’s bringing to the downtown core is impressive for a metro of our size.
