Just to clear up confusion - Brad's quote on your post is unrelated to this lot and was referring to the old UP site.
Alright, thank you; references to Brad comment removed.
If grouping both lots in the thread helps, than Ok but in the future there may be crosstalk between both lots; since the MoO lot and the lot east of it, are being considered the same project; for the moment based on topic placement

Looks like they're working on the 12th floor of the core, so we'll see about what the height of the garage will be?

I still think that yellow hides 2 floors, so 12 & 13.

So basically 4 floors/month on the slightly conservative side.

It seems that it started slower and has sped up. I suspect they'll maintain this speed through summer, and then it'll slow again in the fall due to height and weather.

Let's say the rest of this year they average 3 floors/month (again conservative), the core will be between 35-40 floors by January 1st.

the garage is progressing much slower for obvious reasons, but hopefully they can start erecting steel by the fall? they are at L4 right now (almost May) and have to get to 12/13 in order to start steel. Is 8 more levels doable in the next 3 months?

It has recently been reported that due to budget constraints and the rising cost of materials and labor, the building is being slightly scaled back and will no longer be Omaha's tallest. Could be why it hasn't made faster progress recently.

I'd guess the weather may have slowed them down the last couple weeks, and/or there may be some more intricacies involved with the 12th/13th floor, given that's the final height of the garage.

If they keep on their current pace, it would be around 23 floors at that time (the 3rd tallest behind Woodmen and First National at that time). Technically First National is 45 stories, so this building, story-wise, is actually going to be shorter at 44 floors.

I feel like once the core gets to 15 or 16 stories it'll pause for the garage to catch up. Hope I'm wrong. It's taking a long time for each garage level.

that's what i was thinking as well. I can't imagine we'd have a core of 20 some stories while the garage is at level 6 or 7

On the other hand, steel goes up rather quickly, so you don't want them waiting for the core to catch up to it.

At some point, the crane is also going to need to be attached to the building, so that may slow them down a little as well.

Was that not the case a few days ago, or is this simply an observation you made?
