Most modern garages don't have slanted floors. They use flat floors with external or center ramps. External ramps allow you to scale multiple floors at once without entering each one. Can you imagine parking on floor 15, and then have to drive through every floor in a downward spiral to get out?

Does anyone know how they are building the ramps in the garage? The floors from the picture look flat.

The sections that would be where your "windows" for the residences are all look to be the slanted/ramped portions - haha, that's why I was giving you |expletive| about it.

Based on the last height of around 263 ft, it should now be around 279 ft, which would move it past the AT&T building and into 7th tallest, just behind 285 ft of Mutual's current building.

I would think if they go up another 2-3 floors, they will be needing to raise the crane again. Based on taking 2 weeks per floor, that would probably happen sometime around Halloween.

Was just out on the balcony of our office at 31st and Dodge, and the core is *almost* visible. It's a great vantage point to show the current height versus FNBO and Woodmen.

After this lastest rise of the core you can see the same tie-back attachments that will be used to achor the crane.

I'm always looking for an excuse to walk upstairs and stretch my legs. I'll make a point of going up there and getting regular pics as the tower rises, and try to do it from the same spot so we can see the progression!

According to Omaha Scanner, a construction worker has be injured after a 15 foot fall. He fell out of his safety harness!

Sorry, he fell and was hurt, but if he had come out of his safety harness, he would not have worn it anywhere near correctly. I have worn these plenty and there is no way to come out of these if correctly worn. Maybe back in the day when belt harnesses were allowed, but not the type that is required now.

Sorry, he fell and was hurt, but if he had come out of his safety harness, he would not have worn it anywhere near correctly. I have worn these plenty and there is no way to come out of these if correctly worn. Maybe back in the day when belt harnesses were allowed, but not the type that is required now.

Totally agree, used to wear these on top of silos. Ain't no way to accidentally fall out of them.

Confused with what you are saying. Based on the recent construction, it will probably rise up another floor from the current 21 in the next few days. (That would make it 22)

Presumably sometime this week it'll hit the 22nd floor. Should be 24 by Halloween and 25 or 26 by Thanksgiving.

I'd think the crane would need to be raised in the next couple week as well.

It seems they're doing the funny dance of trying to get the garage completed while also working on the core. Makes me wonder if that's why the core isn't going up as fast. i.e. they need to work on both at the same time with primarily the same crane. If they raise the crane too much perhaps it'd be too high to work on the garage.

Just my uneducated observation that somewhat makes sense in my mind.

It’s got to be getting close to 300 ft now I would think, at least 280. Even at 280 it’s already one of the tallest buildings downtown. It looks to be very close in height to the 1970’s international style FNBO building. Amazing pictures Brad thanks.

I made a typo in that message, and it didn't make sense. I was basically trying to say the core would move up this week.

3/17: 8 floors
3/24: 9 floors
4/7: 11 floors

10/2: 22 floors

Based on previous est, height should be around 295ft, which would put it in a tie for 6th tallest in the city with 1st National Center. (and surpass the current Mutual building by about 10 ft)

Crazy, from that angle, the Orpheum tower looks like its about the same height as Mutual, but in reality Mutual is probably about 70-75 ft taller right now.
