Awesome to see Coach McDermott get recognized. I figured he would win, but this is still great news!

They need to just cancel these conference tourneys and play the NCAAs on lockdown.

I agree. But I have a feeling now, that the NCAA tournament will get cancelled for this year. There’s at least a 50/50 chance of that imo..100% if one player on a qualifying team is diagnosed with Covid-19...

Yep, with all the news and events of the past week it wouldn't surprise me in the least bit to see it cancelled.

St Johns-CU, halftime 38-35 St Johns..

Game incomplete. Big East pulls the plug on the tournament..

If I was a betting man, I’d say the NCAA tournament is done too...

Yeah prob done for the year. I think they should play in May, but with all the logistics, it won't happen. Sad to never know how far this Jays team could have gone.

Hopefully they all return. I don't think that any of them are ready for the NBA yet. Z might be the closest but he was only a sophomore and needs to be a little more consistent to have a shot. If the team plays with their same tenacity that it did this year, they will be really something special next year. Plus Antwaan Jones and Ryan Kalkbrenner coming in next year!!!

And Davion Mintz will be back next year too..

I agree, if this team keeps its vision, closeness and selflessness, they will be stacked to make a big time run next season...

At least they are conference Champs that’s huge. Although I feel bad for them because they probably would of won at least 1 NCAA tournament game, the Jays have struggled in that category under Coach McDermott.

Just got done watching the replay of the Seton Hall game on FS1. Makes me appreciate what a special game and season this was. Just a roller coaster of emotions this past week. Go from finishing on a 13-1 to win the Big East conference. To finding out that Z is injured. To playing only 1/2 a game before finding the season is canceled. Still can't believe the season ended so abruptly without a loss. Just have the feeling of unfinished business.

Boy was this a special season though!!!

I rewatched the game yesterday..I’ll just keep replaying it whenever I need a Bluejay basketball fix...

There were rumors of at one point possible having a 16 team tournament. That would have been best case scenario for the Jays this year. They would have definitely been in and it wouldn't have been played until the end of March in Atlanta. By then, Zegarowski would have been mostly healed and ready to go. I wish this would have happened.

Of course, you have teams like Iowa (struggled down the stretch going 5-6 in their last 11 games) that would have been furious with the decision.

Its out there big time and has been out there big time for a couple of weeks. Truth be known in a stadium full of over 15,000 people there had to have been dozens of infected people in there.

Good thing the tournament was cancelled:

Zegarowski is recovering from surgery from a torn meniscus and is out 3-4 months. (The original thought was that he would be ready in 2 weeks)

I think when the tournament was cancelled, they went and decided to go with surgery.

Looks like the surgery was done before the tournament was canceled and found he needed more extensive work

There was a chance going into his arthroscopic procedure that the damaged cartilage could be removed, and the sophomore would then work to recover in time to play again this month. That scenario, though, might have carried long-term ramifications for his knee, McDermott said.

Instead, the meniscus needed to be repaired, requiring a longer rehab process. But Zegarowski will be back at full strength this summer, according to McDermott.

Great season for the Jays. I’d even argue it was their finest..

It’s hard to turn the page on this particular Creighton Bluejays team..mainly because I’m so dang proud of them..

Perhaps the best is yet to come...

That is awesome to see, it is very likely that Creighton will be in the Top 10 or even Top 5 to start next year. This is so amazing for this program. The amount of publicity the university and the city will see is going to be great. Maybe we can even get an ESPN gameday broadcast live from the CHI.

Hopefully it stays this way. The polls seem to favor Duke, NC and all the Big 10 teams a little too much.

Oklahoma State got a hefty NCAA penalty. What does that mean for Creighton?

Oklahoma State was the first in line. It got blindsided and flattened by the NCAA’s emphatic hammer.

Which leads to a pressing question locally: What fallout is headed Creighton’s way?
