I’ve also regularly seen crane work just before midnight.Brad wrote: Thu Jun 19, 2025 9:56 amThey have been doing that for over a year now. When I took those photos last year of the crane going all the way around, that was around 9pm when second shift was on break. Some weeks they have been working 7 days a week too.NEDodger wrote: Thu Jun 19, 2025 9:43 amMakes sense. It’s going to not just be insanely hot but also humid as well. I’d make the same trade off.skinzfan23 wrote: Thu Jun 19, 2025 8:35 am I have been amazed at how late they have been working these past few nights. I have been downtown each of the last 2 nights and both nights they were still using the crane until 9:30 at night. Maybe they are trying to get a lot done before the heat these next few days.

Is that section inside the corner all glass? The only reason I'm asking is it does look slightly different, similar to the below rendering and it also appears that the south section on the west has a similar finish.....just thinking that this could be what that part looks like.

It appears to be all glass. I’m not sure if the rendering is supposed to be another material but one thing I’ve noticed already is how different the glass can look in different lighting, amount of shade, etc.

I thought for sure it would be mesh or some other sort of venting akin to the new parking garage in Blackstone.
I'd imagine a sealed-in parking garage would become a literal oven in the summer...

There is indeed a “column” of metal mesh for ventilation.skinzfan23 wrote: Fri Jun 20, 2025 12:01 pmIs that section inside the corner all glass? There's got to be some sort of air circulation / venting system. Never mind the heat, that'd be a deadly buildup of Carbon Monoxide if they weren't circulating fresh air in somehow... One of the perils of doing it all enclosed like they are.InTheRoom wrote: Fri Jun 20, 2025 1:21 pm I thought for sure it would be mesh or some other sort of venting akin to the new parking garage in Blackstone.

But certainly appreciate the glass look from the exterior. Much more integrated of a building rather than a building sitting on top of a parking garage...

Thank you guys, I totally was forgetting that this section is still all parking so that makes sense, although I think the west sections might be open more for ventilation.

I would think part of the garage will be pretty open for ventilation. Also thinking the west side.skinzfan23 wrote: Fri Jun 20, 2025 2:13 pm Thank you guys, I totally was forgetting that this section is still all parking so that makes sense, although I think the west sections might be open more for ventilation.

The inserts on the western portion of the parking garage are more open, but still look much nicer than I was imagining. They’re currently being installed on the western portion of the north face.Cermak wrote: Fri Jun 20, 2025 3:55 pmI would think part of the garage will be pretty open for ventilation. Back in town for a few days. I was driving in CB on south expressway and on the viaduct portion it looked like it would be a great view, all 3 lined up in a row evenly spaced. Unfortunately you can’t get a picture there….

Unfortunately judging by the last photo, they appear to have died and turned into ghosts. Not may new buildings come pre-haunted, so that's a USP I suppose.arch_RP_planner wrote: Mon Jun 23, 2025 9:08 amI guess they were our tour guides...djc311 wrote: Mon Jun 23, 2025 8:52 amThose two guys with the coffee cups get around the building... they're in most of the shots!arch_RP_planner wrote: Mon Jun 23, 2025 8:34 amhttps://www.hok.com/news/2024-06/hok-de ... dquarters/Omahayngin wrote: Mon Jun 23, 2025 8:29 am are there any renderings of the interior design? just wondering what it will look like when you 1st come in.

Re: Mutual of Omaha Tower (14th & Farnam)
They added 2 more floors of steel to the East side at the top (floors 33 and 34)
I would think at some point soon, they will probably have another point to attach the crane b/c it probably needs to go up at least once more to finish the tower.

I like that view as well, see it every time I go into the office. The only downside is we could use some more buildings to fill in the gap between Fnbo and Mutual.

The steel construction has reached floors 26 and 27.
The yellow crane on site is about 25 feet shorter than the height of the completed tower.
The entire project is on track. The Mutual of Omaha skyscraper will open in 2026.

So the building will be about 2 stories taller than the crane is now.

Based on where it is at now (at 650') and when using a straight edge on the photo, the crane appears to be almost the same (slightly shorter) height to FNBO (FNBO is 7' higher in elevation), my guess is the very tip of the crane.

Just thinking ahead here. Upon completion, I wonder what the aviation obstruction lights atop the tower will be like? Flashing, steady, white blinking lights etc. I’ts the nerd in me that wants to know. Plus, I’m looking forward to seeing the tower aglow at night.
