I think this will be a case of the fans not realizing what they've lost until it's long gone.Linkin5 wrote: Mon Dec 22, 2025 5:07 pmArrowhead was a football specific stadium built in an era when new stadiums were predominantly multi-use. Additionally, that loudness comes from the stadium having a sharper incline in seating than most other stadiums. So no, Arrowhead was special when it was built.skinzfan23 wrote: Mon Dec 22, 2025 4:15 pmI think Arrowhead is very loud, but there really isn't anything super special about it. It is similar to the other football venues built around that time frame 50 years ago.Linkin5 wrote: Mon Dec 22, 2025 3:44 pm Absolute shame. Arrowhead is such a unique stadium in a world of cookie cutters. Get ready for another glass domed stadium that looks like the rest.
The new stadium will have 10k fewer seats and more luxury boxes. The luxury boxes are full of corporate guests that make zero noise. It will not be as loud of an experience. People will be spread out and the rank and file fans will likely struggle to get tickets with many longtime season ticket holders being priced out of the new venue.
And, if you expect that gameday experience of grills for as far as the eye can see, good luck. Kansas has zero mass transit and this will not have near the parking as the old stadium as modern design sees a sea of parking lots around a stadium as wasted prime real estate. Gone are the days where Chiefs fans will be out grilling 4 hours before the game and walk into the stadium. Welcome to an era of shuttle busses from remote lots miles away and eating at team branded restaurants and bars surrounding the stadium.
It will be much more corporate experience, built by corporations for corporate sponsors. Some may like it, but it will absolutely be cookie cutter, bland, and lacking in whatever identity was unique to the Chiefs.
Pretty soon, every NFL game will be indoors, and you'll struggle to tell whether you're in KC, Las Vegas, LA, Chicago, etc. The NFL is reaching a point where their facilities have the same amount of character as the average NBA or NHL arena.
