A pour on Tuesday would make sense. They probably want to top out so they have more of the warm season to work on steel/glass, and then focus on the interior during the winter.

Lanoha Shares Details about Mutual Tower & Plans for Current HQ

Not only will that increase the building’s height, it will form an architectural crown that will hide rooftop air-handling equipment.

Just listened to the episode over lunch. They said the crane will rise one more time to 750 feet. The core will be done next month and steel should be done by the end of the year.

I suppose I'll venture forth and say that FNBO has been eclipsed as the outright tallest building in Omaha. Unless a big internally lit green, white and encircled "1" is added to the roof line like some of the big dogs have done in other metro areas. Ha ha! :;): :;): Mike

I would not be surprised if FNBO modified either the height or profile (visibility, like brighter lights in the crown) to try and shine like the MoO tower will. I believe FNBO tower has not yet switched to LED.

Not to detract from the thread but the lighting for Woodmen is led and worse than what they previously had except the fact it can change colors. The old lights were way brighter and lit the tower up better. That’s what I love about FNBO, the lighting can be seen for 20-25 miles away.

I’d be happy if they could keep the crown lit consistently and not keep it in darkness coinciding with the Holiday Lights Fest.

I don’t think it’s LED lighting per se that’s the issue, I mean no body has trouble seeing the Empire State Building from distance. Some adjustment could help The Woodmen though.

Steering this back topical. I believe Cowboy previously mentioned Mutual’s top will be illuminated in blue. Curious how intense this will be since the tower walls are generally blue. Hard to tell much from the renderings.

When I was downtown today the Tower Crane was adding more sections to the construction elevators. They go up to the top of the steel now.

That KMTV view bothers me. We finally have a third tower and their camera location mostly blocks out the FNB tower. The best views capture all 3 mixed-in with the whole context, in my opinion.

Well they can't really move the casino tower 30+ years after it opened... They should talk to Boyd Jones about getting one up on the old Postal Annex.

Completely agree! I can’t stand this view. It would be great if there could be a camera placed at the top of the adventure tower in the playland park development. I’m thinking that would give the view/angle you get driving south on I29 that everyone generally seems to enjoy.

I do love the view from I-29 S. I think that is the best view along with driving south from the airport. Downtown looks more dense from either of those viewpoints.

I like this view because I can check the progress of the Mutual tower almost daily. Plus they seldom move the camera so it almost always shows this view. It is a bummer that it’s blocking out the First National tower though.

I like this view because Mutual’s tower construction is front and center and I too check it regularly. Now only if another tower gets built on the ol UP site, it’ll balance out the skyline quite a bit.

Riding home down Abbott Drive from Eppley toward Cuming Street late the other night I was pleasantly surprised to see that the Mutual tower aligns nearly perfectly with Abbott Drive for about 2 miles, until Abbott curves to the west. So anyone coming into downtown from Eppley gets a good long view of the tower directly in front of them. Quite an impressive welcome to Omaha!
