Bummer. B & D Pit Stop has a pretty decent line-up of hot breakfast choices and definitely had a non-chain feel to it.

Look at it this way - you'll now be able to get your burner phone and all the CDB products you could want once they convert over. Oh, and possibly even rent a U-Haul.

But that's the thing--there's no space! The parking lot at Springfield is crowded as is, and Westmont is even worse. That's why I was wondering what the charm is about these locations.

The Gretna location was rebranded yesterday when I got home. There is a banner across the front of the store an the sign on the pole near the street has been changed.

PERFECT! That corner is notorious for car accidents already... this should fix everything!

Honestly, not that the previous gas station was a great setup, but it's a terrible location to try and have high traffic counts coming in and out of a parking lot.

That Millard Ave. Sinclair likely dates back 60 years to the opening of the Western Electric factory; it was a great location for them until Millard Avenue traffic necessitated the median that limited access into the lot. The family that ran that station were really great people.

Mega Saver bought B & D Pit Stop (at least three locations--Springfield, Gretna and Westmont). Much gnashing of teeth in Springfield, at least. I thought they were a Mom/Pop deal, but apparently Marsh Creek Concrete had owned the chain up until now.

Doesn't really fit into Mega's niche--these are, as far as I know, their smallest locations. Huh.

Sounds awesome... something to look forward to; they're like the Club180 of gas stations. That place went into Two Fine Irishmen and the old sign still remains installed. Worry about taking over the business first; we'll fix the sign (maybe) later. Oh, and turn any car washes on the property into storage space.

While in town this weekend, I was speaking to a cashier at a K&G who mentioned that Mega Saver had purchased 26 K&G's in Iowa recently.

Why is it that Megasaver can have approximately 17 locations within a mile radius of that location but Casey’s had to give up 72nd and Maple Bucky’s because it and Benson Bucky’s together would somehow be monopoly (even though it was fine when they were both Bucky’s…)?

That'll make four locations within less than a square mile. And yes, that's in addition to the seemingly 17 (not such an exaggeration) other locations right in the area.

That's not good to see so many MegaSavers. The fact that they're successful at a location no restaurant, or even reputable QT could pull off, then have enough confidence to open another store less than a half mile away says quite a bit about the clientele of the area.

Not a good look for northwest/central Omaha at all.

There is a permit to cut off the sewer, which is usually a good sign the building is coming down. There are currently no other permits or any planning board applications. Land is owned by RS Holdings, which is Mega Saver. County website is not sowing when they purchased it.

Could be that it’s being torn down to keep the homeless from living in it.
