I know they were planning on relocating some pretty large sewer as part of the apartment development and in the draft Capital Improvement Program for this year it looks like they cancelled that project so I guess it all adds up.
You are correct. They can’t build over the large sewer and for whatever reason they didn’t proceed with the relocation.

So the street beautification is about all were gonna see here?
That’s the way it seems for now. I hate seeing the abandoned buildings that are boarded up and repeatedly get broken into as well as the old road with the signs blocking it off. The area has truly become an eyesore. I don’t know if the beautification is enough to entice more businesses/development in the area. Very disappointing considering some were trying to hype it up as the next Blackstone/Dundee/Benson (which was a bit optimistic).
On a positive note, the beautification does look good and as one that often cycles to/through the area, I appreciate the wide path off the road as well as the BCycle station. I’m hoping that Greenline opening will increase foot traffic in the area.
It appears Greenline has more parked cars than SCBC ever did. The benches in the update are popular, the other day they were filled with I think sleeping people.

Tasty Pizza had plans to build a new location somewhere around 49th and Saddle Creek has anyone heard if they are holding off on that?
Last I’d heard they still did, but the other new location was taking priority. I think part of the issue was they’d have to build this one from scratch.
