I had chik fil a sauce once, and I was like big whoop.
I use canes sauce every time I get it, so I too have to go Canes all day.
Speaking of Chik fil A, people also rave about their Polynesian sauce, and that is another one that I had once and didn't see the big deal. The one I do really like from there is the spicy sweet chili.
Also, I definitely taste the difference between ketchup brands. For me, Heinz is so much better than Hunts or Del Monte. Isn’t French’s known for their Mustard over Ketchup? That’s what I know them to be famous for anyway.

Alright, hot sauces next. Start with vinegar based sauces such as Frank's, Trappey's, Texas Pete, Louisiana Hot, etc. Name your favorite and any others that might be better.
I'm not sure the brand that Popeyes uses, but their little packets are some of my favorite. Not sure if KFC still has the same stuff it used to, but I really enjoyed theirs last time I had it about 5 years ago. I've always been used to Trappey's growing up, but can't say it's great. Haven't had enough Frank's, Texas Pete, Tapatio to make a judgement. But I know I don't care much for Tabasco.

I agree, Tabasco was never my favorite, though my brother in law used to swear by it. I prefer Cholula. Very tasty with Chick-Fil-A mac and cheese!

I'm kinda torn on Sriracha. I'm gonna lean a little more toward disliking it. Probably 70-30 not a fan, but every now and then, I get a weird hankering for it. Like right now that we're talking about it, some eggs with Sriracha sounds kinda good... I'll buy the smallest bottle they make every now and then, and it'll go less than half-used by the time it gets thrown out. I remember the big Sriracha craze. Kinda like with chicken sandwiches now. I didn't really get into either... What I do really like is their chili sauce. I'm not sure it is all that familiar of an item. Familiar green lid, but this is a screw-off lid and you scoop it out. It's kinda like Sriracha with red pepper flakes mixed in... All this talk and now I might go out and get a bottle.

Fellow heat freak here. The other day I combined some store bought bbq sauce with Trader Joe's Peri Peri Sauce (2/3 to 1/3) for a pulled pork sandwich. I almost had a culinary orgasm.
Sriracha sauce on anything is absolutely unappealing to me..
I’m not sure I’d go through the trouble of combining a BBQ sauce with a Trader Joe’s sauce..but the way it was described (admittedly) indicates an over the top appeal, lol…
So it turns out Popeye's is Louisiana Hot Sauce. Makes total sense, but I never really put two and two together on that one. So I went out and got a bottle of it for the first time. First time I ever had it on tap like that. Could be dangerous. I also got some Sriracha Chili Garlic Sauce (as it turns out). I kinda forgot about all that stuff after I threw everything in the fridge away from that July 10th storm.
WOW, I just did a side by side taste test between Trappey's and Louisiana Hot, and the difference is huge! Trappey's has substantially less flavor and heat compared to Louisiana Hot, which could be a reason to prefer it for some. I'm Louisiana Hot all the way! I grew up on Trappey's, and I can't believe how watered down it tastes now. I been living under a rock!

I may need to revisit Louisiana Hot..When I’ve had it in the past, it was “meh” to me..but its been awhile ago..

I will deviate a bit from the current discussion. For work, I have traveled to the S and SE a decent amount in the past. I really like the change of pass with Carolina vinegar-based BBQ sauces. I have never found a national brand that stacks up and the same goes for any regional or local that try and do it.
About 1 1/2 maybe 2 years ago the Discovery Channel did a show where they had this group of startup businesses that were of all kinds of variety, A wine company, a couple that bought a minor league soccer team, A BBQ sauce company, and a number of others. These "exporters" evaluated the people as much as the concept. I watched the first episode just by chance and then set it up to record. A while after it ended I sat and binged watched the season over a few nights.
The winner was the BBQ guy. What they were doing sounded like what I liked so I ordered some online. I now have placed my fifth order and shared some with others and have made group orders.
If you like this kind of sauce order some. They have a reg and a spicy and dry seasoning to match. My go-to is the spicy sauce.

I eat ketchup on fries, but I don’t think I’ve ever used it on anything for breakfast. The only thing I put on hash browns is pepper.

I thought it was weird when I first tried it, but now I'm a convert. I highly recommend giving it a try. Hash browns, breakfast sandwiches, skillets, etc.
Another question is salsa on breakfast... I say yes.

As stated above there is no national brand that I have tried that comes close to what I looked for. I have tried a good number too.
Also, Nothing wrong with Ketchup on Scrambled Eggs. Of course for Katchup it HAS to be Hinze

You should try some Trader Joe’s Carolina Gold BBQ Sauce. Good stuff, especially with pork.
He said "They are some big, ugly red brick buildings" ...and then they were gone.
Thanks for the tip on TJ's Carolina BBQ Sauce. I'll give it a try. I use ketchup on my fries and burgers, and to make cocktail sauce for shrimp, and for years I only bought Heinz, because it was the only one I liked--until I discovered a sugar free Ketchup made by G. Hughes, an outfit out of Ohio. I'm not a diabetic, but I'm just trying to eliminate sugar from my diet for health reasons. I don't just like it because it's sugar free, I like it because it's awesome ketchup. they also make a line of sugar free BBQ sauces and salad dressings----all good. I buy them at my local Giant, but they're also available at Target and Walmart.
For hot sauces, I prefer Cholula and the Louisiana hot sauces.
For Buffalo Sauce, Sweet Baby Rays makes a good one for me, and in fact I often mix it with their BBQ to make a "Buffoque" which I love on chicken/wings.
As for Ketchup on breakfast, I use it on Hashbrowns occasionally when I am not using maple syrup and pepper.

Right now, I mainly use Yeak hot sauces on eggs. Depending on the mood and the level of spice I'm hoping to attain, It could be the orange, red, or green. If you haven't tried the Yeak sauces, they are pretty versatile and will work on many dishes. Highly recommended.
Breakfast meats are either HP sauce on sausages or maybe Volcanic Peppers corny chipotle for a little kick.
Ketchup only comes out for hash browns, which I rarely have at home.

Yeak is really solid. I'm noticing a few businesses in Omaha are starting to offer it including Rathskellar and Sunnyside on Center.
It's almost entirely distributed by a couple in Omaha. If you want to look it up on Facebook, it's Blek Omaha. They will do at home touchless delivery. I've had them deliver to my house multiple times, including holiday baskets they do that I've picked up for friends. They are a staple at our soccer group events for Union Omaha and have done things like pig roasts for the tailgates. The sauces are a Cambodian recipe that are distributed nationally with a family member of this group, but they handle the whole Omaha portion of it.
Definitely check it out if you like solid hot sauces that can be used on a number of dishes.
I tried HP sauce for the first time last night, and I'm fairly certain I do not care for it. Its like steak sauce with extra vinegar, but somehow thicker. I'd be willing to give it another try, but on initial inspection, not my thing.

HP sauce is definitely best with British inspired items..
I tried it several times at Chippy’s British Market and Bakery here in Omaha and the HP sauce went very well with their Scotch Egg and their sausage rolls. It is definitely an acquired taste…

I believe I prefer Mustard over Ketchup, but like both. I agree they are the 2 gateway condiments most people use first. Then as their tastes mature, many folks will branch out to sauces with more exotic flavors. HP Sauce looks like a ketchup/Heinz 57 hybrid. It definitely has a more vinegar taste. I also like using HP sauce when eating British staple items like a Scotch Egg.
