Omaha hasn't had regular nonstop service to the Los Angeles area since 2001. Airport officials said restoration of the flights was important for both business and leisure travelers.
Permanent is quite relative. I think what Mr. Waters meant to say was year-round.
Here's a link to Frontier's official press release, which is easier to read than the way the OWH has it formatted.
OMA-LAX/SAN will each operate three times weekly while OMA-PIE is just twice weekly. OMA-MCO is either four or five times weekly, depending on the week. All flights are to be on Embraer E190s.
Seems like they're just testing the waters and hopefully both the LA and San Diego routes can be bumped up to daily in time. They certainly won't be getting much of a premium as far as business travelers go with only three weekly nonstops, albeit people can connect in Denver if they are going out or returning on a day without nonstop service.
Maybe if the two West Coast routes overflying Denver work out, Frontier might look into some East Coast routes from Omaha that overfly Milwaukee, i.e. Boston, New York, Philadelphia, etc.
