Crash Davis fired?!?

I can't find anything online about this. I'm sick of Clear Channel firing hosts and never saying anything to the public about them.
I know Crash defended Jim Flowers--any connection?

At least Chip Maxwell thanked Crash. Anybody know what happened to him?

Disapeared into thin air. KFAB anounced this AM that some guy that used to be in the area is comming up from Texas to take the spot. Don't remember the name. Follow Tom Becka on Facebook and he has been poking jab at them. I saw that Crash was gone there before he didn't show up on the air.

Didn't say much about crash, more about the new guy.

Too bad. I miss Crash and Leater on 96.1 The Brew.

Crash had some good humored comments about it on his FB page this morning.

Thanks. I just found the story about the new guy. I really got used to Crash; I wonder if he's totally gone.
He used to have some kind of hunting show on Sat mornings.

Don't know about Crash but Lester ended up in Lincoln. He has been hired by NRG MEDIA as PD/afternooner on Classic Hits KLNC (105.3 WOW FM)/LINCOLN

I was told clear channel is going more robo dj so they can send same music to different channels/locations.

Clear channel has figured out that they can make more money by selling demos to national advertisers. Fewer local programming and more cruddy generic music.

The replacement is Chris Baker. He was at 101.9 The Edge here back in the mid to late 1990's.

Looks like KFAB is clamoring to come up with ratings to keep up with Becka. I think its funny that he came back and appears to be winning.

Of course I have no idea what the ratings are so maybe thats just my own story to make it more dramatic.

Crash was pretty dull but in the meantime they put mr. personality (Chip) on so that the new guy will seem fantastic by comparison, even if hes a total stiff.

Keep up with Becka? I had no idea he was even on the air in Omaha.

I like to just leave the radio on KFAB so I can listen to all the national shows; never did listen that much to drive-time hosts but I did really like Crash. (And turn it off during sports.)

However, I'm really sad they took off Michael Savage; I tried writing to find out if they could bring him back since he is still on the radio--somebody mentioned they listened to him in Detroit; how do you do that? Cannot stand Andy Dean!

They didn't take off Savage. Savage had a ongoing lawsuit with his sindicator and walked away from his show when he got a judment ruling in his favor. For a time he was not on the air anywhere. He signed up with another small sindicator and is back on in a few markets. As far as I understand it KFAB has a contract with the sindicator that has him and cannot pick him up for now.

Sorry, I misquoted the Savage issue. I know within a week of winnin his lawsuit, he was back on the air and supposedly can be heard via internet, which I can't get.

If KFAB has a contract with the sindicator that has him, why can't they pick him up for now??? Or is that a CC decision?

As I understand it their contract is with the one he had the suit with. Not his current sindicator

Crash, bless his heart, was not as entertaining as Tom Becka. Seemed like a nice guy though.
