Same here. The easiest of the DT E/W streets to barricade and close, great photo ops, plenty of parking, beer at the bottom!

Giant water slide down 84th Street in Papillion? You might see it this summer

City officials in Papillion say Slide the City has submitted an application for an event featuring a water slide spanning several city blocks down 84th Street.

Slide the City’s website also lists an event “coming soon” to Omaha, though Omaha Parks and Recreation Director Brook Bench said he had not heard from the company. He said he didn’t know of any specific plans for an Omaha event.

Meggan Pingree, event director for Salt Lake City, Utah-based Slide the City, said the company planned to submit an application to the City of Omaha. She said the company wants to hold the event in downtown Omaha.

“We have enough of an interest in the city that we’re interested in opening up both of them,” she said of the potential for events in Papillion and Omaha.
