I heard that Bomgaars is moving to the KMart location in CB. They have owned the building for over a year.

They must be dividing it. That is way too big for their typical stores.

Their current store is very cramped. They may feel they need to do that to compete with the new Mills Fleet Farm store proposed for S. 24th Street at 185000 sq, ft.

I read in the paper a few weeks ago that the mayor was talking about a new retail announcement coming soon that would have a $300k impact on council bluffs. Is the new mills fleet farm what he was talking about?

It is going to be the anchor in Park Place. Southwest of the Marketplace. Mills Fleet and Farm just opened in Sioux City. They also have locations in Ankeny and Mason City. They are based in Minnesota.

Actually, they dropped the mills from their name so now they are Fleet Farm. Not just a farm store though.

I know Bomgaars have took over old KMarts and old Walmarts in some towns, and did not scale them down. If anything, they made them a little bigger. I know they did this in Denison, Carroll, and Sioux City. There might be other towns, but I know about these mainly.

Surprised but not surprised to see that KMart finally succumb to the market. That one seemed to hang on way longer than it should have.

always liked Bomgaars. I’ve been to the one in Denison in former KMart. Probably a good move for the Bluffs store as it is a little cramped.

The Denison one is an old WalMart not KMart. I remember when WalMart was in that one.

Bomgaars is opening their new store in CB in the former Kmart on Sept. 12.
