Another restaurant owner, Tom Simmons of Brazen Head Irish Pub, has purchased the Underwood Cafe building, 4949 Underwood Ave., said former owner Kathleen Jamrozy.
Gambino's Pizza opened Tuesday in the former Godfather's space at 4920 Underwood.
Alan Haney plans a $1 million-plus renovation of the building into what he described as four luxury apartments upstairs and business space below. He said he hopes to fill two ground floor spaces with retail businesses but has nothing lined up yet.
