If that were to happen it has the potential to be a powerhouse. A new airport between the two would be expensive and on the heels of GRI's new terminal it probably is a bad idea but still...I think it makes more sense than one between Omaha & Lincoln.

Grand Island's terminal was designed for easy expansion. Would be a no brainer, but Kearney would never concede.

I just think there is strength in numbers. One airport drawing from the whole region would have the potential numbers to draw service to chicago, denver, minneapolis, dallas, and more Allegiant routes. Or a combination of them.

No argument there. The Tri Cities leaders really need to be locked in a room with each other and have them work things out on a lot of issues. When they built the South Locust I-80 exit to GI after a 20+ year stall, Kearneys Mayor Pete went ballistic and demanded another exit for Kearney. He got it with relatively little delay.

Its strange how little they have tried to capitalize on the 'Tri-Cities' moniker. With populations decreasing in most parts of rural Nebraska, these 3 cities could be using this far more aggressively to drive/keep population from completely abandoning the western 75% of the state.
