Stretch of Hwy 370 in Bellevue without pedestrian walk signals, residents fear crossing




BELLEVUE, Neb. — A portion of Highway 370 in Bellevue is without pedestrian walk signals. Residents fear crossing the streets and want them turned back on, but the city says its hands are tied. Golden Boulevard to 42nd does not have working walk signals at the moment. Each signal is turned off and covered by a black case or weather protector.

The lights were shut off and covered up roughly a month ago. At that point, the city was told they'd be on and functioning in two or three weeks. That time has passed. KETV talked with Public Works Director David Goedeken and was told the project was not an NDOT project but rather a study done by Olsson.

This is very close to my office. During the summer I see kids crossing here to get to Target and the movie theater. Man I really hope they get this figured out before someone gets hurt.
