2024 UP Big Boy 4014 Steam Locomotive Tours

Interesting, this seems like a very last min announcement for the UP Steam Crew.
There is a link on that page to ""Big Boy No. 4014 "Home Run Express" Schedule"", but that link takes you to a different schedule.
Working the schedule backwards, One would assume they would move the train to the ballpark on Thursday 6/13 which usually means they would have a work day in Council Bluffs on Wednesday. I'm guessing if they do a 2 day trip to Omaha/CB they could leave as late as Monday, do Cheyenne to North Platte on Monday, and North Platte to Omaha/CB on Tuesday. Or they could leave this Sunday and do a 3 day trip.
I haven't seen any official updates on this, but several people in the railroad community are speculating the UP website is wrong that there is no steam locomotive coming this year.

Union Pacific announced today that its legendary steam locomotive Big Boy No. 4014 will embark on a second tour this year, with a trip planned this fall in middle America.
The “Heartland of America Tour” will start Aug. 29 in Cheyenne, Wyoming, and include nine additional states: Arkansas, Colorado, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma and Texas. The eight-week tour concludes in late October.
No more info is available about the Kansas portion of the tour. We will share details of when and where Big Boy will travel through Kansas when they are released.

Drove by there today. The train is there, no Big Boy.

Leno hosted "The Tonight Show" on NBC for nearly 17 years, taking over the job from comedian Johnny Carson in 1992 and becoming the nation's top-rated late night talk show host for many years. After he left the late-night show, Leno had more time to devote to his passion for rare and unique cars, which is the focus of "Jay Leno's Garage."
A self-described gear head, Leno has more than 181 cars and 160 motorcycles, including a McLaren F1.
The special episode will be available to watch on Leno's YouTube channel starting Monday, Sept. 23.
