You were going to say Omaha, right? Makes sense, right? CWS is there, right? Been talked about for decades.

Hall of Fame Story in KC Star

The article’s justification for its location goes on and on ad-nauseum, as if Overland Park is some Mecca for college baseball. I don’t think I’ve ever read anything so over the top. Gives new meaning to the phrase “word-salad”. All they had to say was “Mahomes gave us the $ with strings attached.” It’s basically a room added on to an existing local museum.

Yeah they were kind of speculating about this on 1620. Best guess is financially, Omaha didn't step up.

We missed out on the draft and now this. Disappointed this landed in KC (even more bummed it's in some suburban-type development), but there could still be a small CWS HOF in Omaha right?

I mean, at least they can curate the collection and exhibits as it is located within another museum and maybe move to Omaha down the road. One can hope it can be in the next round of cultural institution construction here.

Just short of 40 miles from KCI in a glorified strip mall in suburban KC.
Had Omaha stepped up it could have been near the CWS stadium. I doubt it would ever draw a million people a year in either city but give me a break. It could have joined with the Durham, hosted events, and been more than Mahome's toy like Whataburger in KC. It could have been another thing during the CWS.

I will not get on Mahomes for fronting some money to get this done. This is not a new topic, and there has been plenty of time to have Omaha step up and get it done. There is also money here to seed it or make it happen but it didn't

I hate as much as anyone that it is not here, but Omaha whiffed on this as much as someone else taking it.

Kyle Peterson was on 1620 yesterday morning. Very interesting conversation but it sounds like they didn't want it in Omaha. Kyle says Omaha wants more of a CWS Hall of Fame and not the the full College Baseball Hall.

I skipped to -5:30 and they begin by discussing that there is something special coming for Omaha relating to the CWS museum; something that will make people happy, so this is exciting for us and yes this is when they talk about how the College Baseball Hall does not make sense.

Is it going to be the college world series hall of fame? Like, have a college baseball one, then a CWS one? doesn't make a ton of sense, but may be plausible.

It doesn't have to be huge, but something even like the Boys Town Museum, attached to the Charles Schwab would be neat. Maybe they could have some experiential stuff like throwing a pitch and have it tell you the speed, or taking pictures in old baseball jerseys, in addition to the usual stuff like memorabilia/historic artifacts, and AV highlights from the bigger moments of the CWS.
