Nebraska State Patrol unveils new mobile command post
donated by Department of Energy



NORTH PLATTE, Neb. — The Nebraska State Patrol unveiled a new mobile command post donated by the Department of Energy. It will be stationed in North Platte. The patrol also got a mobile response trailer from the federal officials, which will be stationed in Lincoln. Both vehicles can play several roles for troopers from hosting training sessions to responding to a major disaster.

"This is, for lack of a better term, a portable building. So the idea is it travels from Point A to Point B. Driver operator gets out, shot, sat down, and then we just set this up as a portable building that levels itself secures itself. We then have the slide outs. We have some equipment already installed. There'll be some more updating taking place," Capt. Marty Denton with the Nebraska State Patrol said. The mobile units are equipped with full internet and can seat about 10 people.

Apparently the Nebraska State Patrol Troop A (Omaha) is moving to way north 72nd Street, just south of 680.

Troop A will be moving to 7200 World Communications Drive in Omaha! We will be closed the week of January 19th for the move.
