I came across this announcement of a $10B (as in Billion), 500 acre tech complex for an unnamed big tech company, to be built along I-435 on the north side of KCMO. A big hint as to the project developer comes from the fact that Google bought the land last year.

There are 6,000+construction jobs in the northland alone on technology and data center projects that will stretch out to 2030 and beyond. A sizable industry around maintenance and fabrication has formed as well. Takes a sizable number of contractors to upgrade each operating facility continuously.
