Skylark Meats Closing Omaha Facility

Skylark Meats is closing their Omaha facility at 4430 S 110th St in August and laying off 218 people.

Saw this the other day - hard to say Omaha is still the beef capital of America, IMO. Another very sad thing to see happen. Sure, it won't affect Omaha like the plant closures in small communities, but between this and Kellogg's closing down, we're losing two food facilities within a few blocks of one another.

That name takes me way back. As I recall Skylark Meats was located for a long time next door to Big Fred’s, off of 119th and Pacific. My family bought quite a bit of their product back in the day.
