What? I have been to Madison, Scottsdale, and obviously Omaha/Lincoln, and I would hardly call any of them "walkable". Omaha has great trails, but as far as walking from building to building, dont count on it

"Walkable" is a bit of a vague term; are they talking about for day-to-day activities, high-intensity fitness walking, pleasant strolls down scenic trails, or what?
Personally, I find Omaha easy and pleasant to get around without a car. I take MAT and walk everywhere. And I feel a lot healthier after only a few weeks of it.

And they obviously had some sort of minimum population limit, otherwise this list would have been littered with college towns.

It was the 100 biggest cities in the country.
Since I've moved Downtown I've got pretty much everything I need within walking distance. And what I don't have will soon be available. I think some of the trails were a factor too.
