Council Bluffs' Omni 4 Theater closes

The Omni 4 Theater in downtown Council Bluffs is closed, owner Dennis Moran confirmed Tuesday morning.
“Yes, it’s closed, I’m sorry to say.”

Anyone heard any update on The Dundee Theater? I think they had the same owners.

Meh, no real loss. There was some mild sentimental value there as I remember going with my grandparents to see Milo and Otis and Firebirds there. I went with a girlfriend in 2001 and the place was in pretty poor shape even then.

I was just looking at this the other day. Omni 4 was originally called Midlands 4 Theatres and opened in 1977 at 300 W. Broadway. It closed around 1992 and reopened around 1995 as Omni 4.

I thought it was good, but I did go there once when it was on the decline and I got a popcorn. I was eating it without looking while watching the movie and there was a screw in the popcorn. No idea where it came from, but my guess was from the popcorn machine.
