Re: Possible major economic development announcement 3/12?
Last time they did this, it was to announce the Olympic swim trials were coming back. I mean, that's nice and all but I don't know if it warranted the mayor and governor to announce it. So, hopefully, it's a little more exciting than that. I wonder if they found a tenant for their building. Maybe Hy-Vee is taking it. I think that's the perfect spot for a grocer. Right in the middle of everything.Brad wrote:Grow Omaha posted this earlier today. Anyone know what it might be?

Something I heard last night: First Data building new office building where library is.
Didn't really believe it and possibly not related to this announcement, but that's what I heard.

As someone mentioned, could it be the “rumored” First Data employee move to the civic site downtown? I doubt it..
We’ll see. Stay tuned...

Hopefully it's not the Gene Leahy Mall plans that the mayor touted in her State of the City address as a "signature" for the city and that designs for it would be released "later in the Spring".Omaha Cowboy wrote:I Don’t completely know Ken..CyborgKen wrote:What are some possibilities?Omaha Cowboy wrote:Let’s keep our fingers crossed...choke wrote:Last time they did this, it was to announce the Olympic swim trials were coming back. Could it be the "official" announcement that the international horse event is coming back?
For the record NEBUGEATER does not equal BUGEATER !!!!!!!

Obviously it's Amazon.

But really, do we have a list of previous economic developments that the governor has been involved in the announcements of? I really hope it's an out of state relocation or something big like that. If it is the announcement of some event, that's just not nearly as exciting.

Ok. It's Monday morning going on 9 Omaha time. Does anyone else find it funny that this "Win" hasn't been mentioned in the media anywhere? If it was a "Big" "Win" wouldn't the Chamber have made a few phone calls?Brad wrote:Grow Omaha posted this earlier today. Anyone know what it might be?

Re: Possible major economic development announcement 3/12?
Haven't announced it yet, but since the Chamber posted "We're cheering a repeat win! #WeDontCoast", I am guessing its an award and not a new project.

Oh well..
So much for any major economic development announcement..
Not sure they needed a major presser to tell us this. Nice win nonetheless...
