CFB Games On Thursday

What do you think of that? Is that okay or should they just be played on Saturdays only?

I don’t mind. It gives me another chance to watch a game.

As someone that appreciates high school football I prefer the Thur nights to the Fri nights for college games. These Thur night games have been happening for a few years.

It also started out by giving TV coverage to teams that may not get it or anywhere near as good of coverage. That being said, it has grown to include higher profile teams to me that says it is not going away.

Great point. I remember the first time I saw Boise State on TV (ESPN) was a Thursday. They pounded BYU in the snow. Really cool way to experience a team that you’d never seen before. That was only a few years before they became the cinderella sensations of the 2000s.

The one I remember because I was there was the Husker game after 9/11 They played Rice on the Thursday night after it was scheduled to be played on the 15th. Everything was canceled the weekend after 9/11 as most will remember. This Husker game was of the first major sporting events to take place after the attach.

Now this was played on a Thur night but it was far from planned to be that way.

There are also the Thanksgiving day games that were played for many years before they moved to The Friday after Turkey day.

Neither of these fit the spirit of the question though.

Kansas State I believe, and there was one against...er... Southern Miss maybe?

I'm thinking in 1995 there was a Thursday Michigan State-Nebraska game.

Seems there are college football games nearly every day of the week except Sunday and Monday (excluding Labor Day weekend)
