You guys are like that Disney's title "FROZEN" back there.... Brrrr.... Even when you're inside, and have the heat on, things still feel different inside, when the air is that cold outside. I wonder if pressures change when the temps drop that low, or something? How cold is it?

No, I moved from Omaha about 1.5 years ago. Ive been totally honest about that -- as I am about everything. I wouldnt make that up -- I would have no reason to. That system must be faulty. No, I didnt move to a tropical area, Im still in a four season climate, but Im not affected by this current polar air at the moment.

No, I moved from Omaha about 1.5 years ago. Ive been totally honest about that -- as I am about everything. I wouldnt make that up -- I would have no reason to. That system must be faulty. No, I didnt move to a tropical area, Im still in a four season climate, but Im not affected by this current polar air at the moment.

There is no system fault involved. The LOCATION is something you have 100% control over and it is what ever you key in to your profile information.

Sometimes, Im also on a computer locally, though. Yes, I left Omaha in August 2017. In fact, I remember I had to work my last day at my job a day beyond my last day where I had lived, so I had to check into an Omaha area motel/hotel for one night before leaving the O. If you're an Omaha native, its strange looking out a motel/hotel window at Gretna subdivisions. Ive never liked staying in a motel/hotel in my own hometown -- as it feels unnatural. Anyways, back to the local frigid weather...

Sure... I get it now. Because that "Location" field is not located on the same page as your signature section (which I sometimes change), I didn't even notice that said "Omaha" there. Funny, that it is right there, and I didn't pay attention to it. I've needed to get a working avatar, too, for awhile now... Anyone know a good place to get a 1x1 avatar? (Also, on my phone, using a mobile version of this forum which Im on 99.9% most of the time, that little section that features "Location: Omaha" doesnt show here on my posts. Now, I understand why I was unaware.)

I was getting ready to change my city, but now that I hone in that "Location" feature, I notice there are other forumers that don't list their location. So, why should I? Maybe that is better? I just don't want to feel like some hypocrite that is excited about Omaha, yet my location shows I moved away... I had to move away. I had too many past memories following me around... (Not bad memories, just past memories that were triggered in certain areas of town.) I'm way too obsessed in Omaha over its development. Seriously, any dirt being pushed around on a silly little lot, and I'm all "What are they building?!?!?!" If I notice a new subdivision being built, I'm all "Omaha is pushing out further!!! I can't wait to see the new streets on Google Maps and the new streets showing on a new Rand McNally city map!!!!!" I'm still the same kid I was growing up. In other cities, they could bulldoze a whole field, put in a whole planned community, and I don't care that much. It's not personal to me, that's why -- like it is personal in Omaha. It feels good not to care. I'm not living my whole life monitoring Omaha's growth & progression so closely. There's that website: "My Omaha Obsession." What is it about Omaha (to its natives & citizens)? Notice other forumers who are now in other cities -- Chicago & Detroit & St Louis, ect -- are still active on this forum? I'm not sure Omaha, and "Go Big Red" country, ever truly lets you go...

Ok, I just added the location. Big deal... (The company I worked for in Omaha had offices here. So, it opened up me to the possibility of this area. It's honestly not all that big or urban, Omaha is way more so. In town, there is a "Mutual of Omaha Bank" I'm happy to see. And, I see another Omaha-based company on a sign, up in the very scenic mountain country... So, makes me smile.)

Anyways, back to the weather... Now, you can see why I'm in a four season climate, but not affected by the polar vortex.

Sure glad I don't live in Reno that would really stink being able to go up and eat at a nice casino on Sunday and placing a legal bet on the Super Bowl and then stopping by a legal weed store on the way home to get some good smoke er I mean good meds You really know how to rough it out there in Nevada did I say that yet?

GrandpaSmucker! Thats the perfect name for your character I sense here... I didnt even know weed was legal here until recently, when the topic was brought up. I hardly go to a casino -- there's some really nice ones here, but not like Vegas's. I flew into Reno over 20 years to visit a friend that lived in this area, and he took me up to Lake Tahoe (which Ive always loved, and visited again in 2007), so I was familiar with the area. I love the location mainly, and the scenery. It's ski & ponderosa pine country. East of Reno it is just barren sage desert, though. There's quite a change passing over the Sierra Nevada Mtns from Reno into Sacramento, a city at a much lower elevation, with palm trees actually around. The backside of the high snowy Sierra Mtns coming to an abrupt halt at the Great Basin sage desert is so beautiful & dramatic from Reno south to Los Angeles. (Do I miss things about Omaha and the Midwest? Absolutely. Especially the urban quality of Midwest cities, the growing sprawl of Omaha, the greenery, the storms, even the humidity... Nowhere has it all.)
