I got a chance to have drinks with him back in the mid 90's when I was thinking about Old Market properties. Very interesting gentleman. Part of the old Gifford family. Interesting Parisian connections. Got us our first Vietnamese restaurant. I remember that place for the amazing spring rolls.

He cast a long shadow and will be remembered fondly.

The Old Market, Downtown and the entire Metro at large has benefited greatly from his vision. A life well lived and a heck of a legacy to leave behind.
