Harlan Theatre and other businesses along Court Street
Harlan City Hall and Police building - the original 2-story brick building was located on the site of the current public library
The building with all the boarded windows was the Hotel Harlan, which closed in the 1950s. Today, the bottom floor is occupied by retail businesses, but the top floors remain empty.
My favorite building in Harlan, the Romanesque/Italiante-influenced 602 Market Bulding, which housed Shelby County State Bank early in the century.
One of the remnants of Harlan's industrial past--the building used to house a major milling plant for the region, but it's been closed for many years. Harlan is mostly service industry now, but there still are a few manufacturing companies left.
The Victoria Station, which is now just a restaurant. It stopped functioning as a railroad station when the railroads were taken out in the mid-80s.

West side of the Square--the blue building originally housed a Ford Dealership, but hidden underneath all that ugly blue cladding is a really nice brick building; hopefully one day they'll remove it.
