We found a couple warm November days to explore Council Bluffs' downtown area, the River's Edge Development, Lake Manawa, and Big Lake Park. It was a bonus to find seagulls around this city.

Nice video. Do you need special permission to fly your drone that close to the airport?

Yes, both north and south of the airport, including downtown Omaha, I was required to obtain permission and also had an elevation limit. However, from around 13th street, going west, there were no restrictions, except for flying close to the jail. I have a larger drone that is registered, but since mini drones have improved so much this year, I no longer need to fly the larger drone.Brad wrote: Sat Nov 20, 2021 2:04 pm Nice video. Ok. Just wondered. Back in the day there was just a generic 5 miles radius from the airport. However I have been seeing a lot more photos and videos inside that 5 miles. I use a helicopters so we play by different rules.

1. I love the adventure of photography. Hiking, exploring, searching, etc, and flying around in a helicopter is an adventure to me.
2. I see thing from up there I would have never noticed from the ground.
3. When I am taking photos for work, I can cover 40+ job sites in 3 hours ranging from Bellevue to Blair (north and south) and the Missouri River to North Bend, Nebraska (east and west). I end up with 1500-2000 high res images on my full frame camera. It’s a really efficient use of my time.
