I used to listen to his show back when national sports talk radio was fairly new to Omaha. I even went to his "tour stop" downtown. I can't even listen to him for 2 minutes now.

He's 57 years old and still talks like the "dudes" in my high school class did. I don't begrudge him an income and obviously he makes a nice one but at some point most people have to grow up.

Could just be me.

He still talks about the tour stop in Omaha all the time.

I don't have the radio on like I once did, but I still turn on Rome from time to time.

I used to call that show from time to time in the late 1990’s, even won “Huge call of the Day” 3 different times, which was fun..

I still like Jim Rome, I just haven’t really listened to much sports talk radio the past 10-15 years…

I still listen but more to the local guys on 1620 and 590 now.

Back in the early days I remember Rome, the Fabulous Sports Babe, Dan Patrick with the nasty boy Rob Dibble, and One on One Sports Network-which had Papa Joe Chavaulier, Kevin Wall (Wall to Wall Sports), Scott Farrell. I am sure there were others.

I remember back when I won those Jim Rome Jungle “Huge calls of the day”, his producers would have you hold the line if your call was a good one, and would ask for your name and address (in case Rome selected your “Racked” call for “Huge call of the Day”)- back in the late 90’s Met-RX protein supplements were a sponsor of the show..The 3 times I won, 2 weeks later, I’d have a box of Met-RX protein supplements delivered to me- shakes, protein bars, whey protein powder etc- easily $100 bucks worth of product in each box.. Pretty cool reward for winning..

Fun times…
