'He's become a legend':
Remembering the life and legacy of south Omaha baseball coach
The "Godfather of Baseball" in south Omaha has died. John Stella was 88 years old. He's being remembered as a legend who coached young men for nearly 40 years. People said Stella transformed baseball in south Omaha. For the last 40 years, he made sure kids could play, even if they couldn't afford it.
South Omaha is looking to the sky for their baseball giant, their godfather, John Stella. "I walk by this picture every single day at the school, and it says the 's' in south Omaha stands for Stella," said Omaha South and Legion Baseball head coach Gene Felise.
