Iowa Women's Basketball

Post by thenewguy »

(after a quick search, didn't see a thread for this- mods, feel free to move it if need be)

First and foremost, I'm a huskers fan, through and through. I love the Big Red...but it's really been impressive watching the Iowa Women on the court. Sure, they have had some tough losses, but they are genuinely exciting to watch. Arena after arena sell-outs, lots of good media for women's athletics, great role models for young girls all over, and now we are on the cusp of witnessing a new all-time scoring leader in Caitlin Clark. Put an asterisk by it if you feel the need to, but it's likely she will pass Pete Maravich in regular season play this year, before she has the opportunity to exercise a 5th year of play at Iowa. It is great what the ladies are doing, I hope they do well in the tournament...as long as they don't play Nebraska ;)

College basketball star Caitlin Clark breaks NCAA scoring record

In her final regular season home game, Iowa Hawkeyes phenom Caitlin Clark broke the NCAA points record during a free throw, passing "Pistol Pete" Maravich to become the Division I all-time scoring leader — a record that stood for more than 50 years. NBC’s Jesse Kirsch reports for TODAY.
