What do all of you think about these detached apartments & for rent neighborhoods that seem to be popping up all over west Omaha. Some that are coming to mind are 204th & Pacific, 204th & F Street, 192nd & Jones. I also heard there is one by Indian Creek too.
I'm trying to keep an open mind about them, but all I see are drawbacks. They are technically apartments, but less dense than traditional apartments. They are eating up land that could be for sale housing as opposed to rentals, further driving up housing prices in Omaha.

I don't know of any examples. But IMO sounds exactly as bad as traditional detached SFH. Maybe a little worse because I don't know that they are as likely to build some sort of ADU.
Renting can be a great wealth building tool, too. Less so if you are putting the same money into renting as you would on buying, or ~30% of your gross.
At the end of the day though, housing is housing.

This article that was recently in the Nebraska Examiner talks about affordable and for-rent neighborhoods. Pretty interesting.
